Mid-century bathroom colour schemes 🤝 Luneta Creations
Here at the Luneta Creations HQ, we are very much hypnotised by these 1950s bathroom colour schemes created by interior designer Lee Childress. They were commissioned by American Standard to help customers colour-coordinate their bathroom decor with the brand’s colourful sinks, toilets and tubs, down to what colour they should use to paint the bathroom ceiling and which towels to buy for the perfect colour-coordination!
I guess this is what brands had to do to inspire customers before Pinterest existed… We couldn’t resist adding our own jewellery to them to see how the colours match together.
Butter Yellow + Pastel Pink
For lovers of yellow and pink, we have these darling options of necklaces and earrings, either original vintage or handmade by me using vintage beads. To follow the scheme, you could match them with orange and terracotta brown pieces.
Shades of Aqua Blue and Muted Green
Another duo close to our heart (and that works all year round), green and blue look are darling building blocks for bathroom and outfit palettes alike. They look lovely with with yellow and pink as well!
Peach Pink and Pastel Green
Peach pink and green, with a touch of dark brown? We can dig it! Like the other ones, this palette is very easily translated from bathroom to fashion. Complement it with any of the upcycled jewels shown here.
Pastel Pink & Apple Green
Any shades of pink and green together work on our books. Add a touch of peach and a dark shade of orange-brown…. Interesting.
Yellow and Blue
A refined duo! Wear any of these pieces to elevate a more basic look with jeans. We think blue and yellow go great with green and pink. But then again, we think everything goes great with pink and green.
I loved seeing how well Luneta’s designs of upcycled jewellery go with these mid-century colour schemes 😌 A good palette works for everything, from interior design to fashion! Would you follow any of these colour schemes at your house, or to build an outfit up?
