Orange and Cerulean Blue Tombo Drop Earrings

£55.00

These incredible tombodama beads are from the 1940s and steal the show on these earrings! Tombodama is a glass-decorating technique used since the 700s in Japan (that’s right, 1300 years ago). The swirly details on these ones remind me of hard candy, and make each bead completely unique. Some have red and orange swirls, some have green and blue, some yellow and black.

This collection is inspired by childhood memories, Showa-era Japanese toys and candy, and these earrings embody all of that for me ♡

Materials: Vintage art deco cerulean blue spacer beads; 1940s foiled spaceship white glass beads with colourful foiled and millefiori/tombo accents; vintage 1960s bicone orange plastic beads sourced in Japan; new gold-filled 14k ball earposts and butterfly backs

Size: 3.4cm x 1.6cm at its longest and widest

Weight: 4.04g (lightweight)

Handmade in London, England, with sustainable vintage beads.
