An adorable vintage necklace to spice up a boring outfit. Based on the clasp and length, I’d say it’s from the 1950s – or possibly 1960s medieval revival, given the chainmail aspect. Peter pan collars came and went in fashion since the beginning of the 20th century, and hook clasps have been around since the Egyptians/Romans/Greeks, so it’s really hard dating this one! The person I bought it from said it was from the 1920s, and to be honest, it could be!
Materials: Original vintage silver-tone chainmail style necklace in a peter pan collar shape
Length: 42 cm
Vintage condition: Good, with some tarnish as expected for vintage pieces, so it’s not perfectly silver. The hook clasp is a bit beaten up, but still offers a perfectly secure closure. Seems to be handmade.
