This necklace would make an incredible gift for a 1960s/70s vintage fashion fan.
Materials: Original vintage gold-tone long fancy chain necklace with two intaglio cabochons featuring Cupid next to Venus, in amber yellow glass. The bigger cabochon is better detailed than the smaller one, but they both show the same Cupid + Venus scene. The chain closes with a barrel clasp. It’s by the brand Goldette, although the maker’s mark on the back of the bigger cameo has mostly faded. Goldette was a US-based jewellery brand that started trading in 1958 and ceased trading in 1977.
Length: Long! Chain only: 57.5 cm; the two pendants add a 9.5cm
Vintage condition: Excellent condition, showing basically no signs of age. If you hold the intaglios against the light, you’ll be able to see some dried glue on the back, but it’s very much not noticeable when wearing.
